Theodore Russell Hrizak

Ted Hrizak, beloved by all who knew him, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and friendship. Born to Joseph and Dorothy Hrizak, Ted proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Army, where he was a member of the 333rd Artillery Unit stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, specializing in rocket technology. Following his military service, he graduated from Greenville Technical College and embarked on a fulfilling career as an electronics and instrument troubleshooter at the Celanese Plastics Plant in Greer, SC, where he worked until his retirement. Ted’s passion for exploration took him across the United States and around the globe. He experienced extraordinary adventures, including swimming with whale sharks, releasing endangered newborn turtles into the ocean, exploring the Mayan ruins, zip-lining through the lush jungles of Costa Rica, and traversing the Panama Canal. A dedicated member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Greer, SC, Ted cherished his church family and was actively involved in the Men’s Ministry and the Choir, where he shared his love for music and community. In his later years, Ted resided at National Health Care, where he continued to spread joy and laughter, even in times of illness. His robust laughter and positive spirit endeared him to both caregivers and fellow residents alike. His presence will be deeply missed by many. Ted’s life was characterized by unwavering friendship and trustworthiness, leaving a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ted Hrizak’s legacy of love and friendship will forever remain in our hearts. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2025, at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Chris Harrison and Mr. Tony Stewart. A private burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Ted is honored by the Men’s Senior Sunday School Class at Mount Lebanon who will be serving as honorary pallbearers for his service. A gathering of friends will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2025, at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.
