Gavin Aho

Gavin Cody Aho passed away tragically on April 13, 2025, in Greer, South Carolina. Gavin was born on May 26, 1994, in Hancock, Michigan. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Gavin was known for his dedication to family, his love for adventure and his witty sense of humor. Gavin’s firm faith in the Lord showed through in the way he lived his life. He loved his people well. Gavin loved being a husband and dad. He was so proud of his wife, Brooke, and his four children. Family time was most important to Gavin. He worked hard at his job for Matt Hannu at MRH Grading to provide for his family. When work was done, he was present and available at home. He loved to play games, grill, and ride anything with a motor. He was a role model to not only his children, but to all. He was loyal, protective, attentive, and kind. He truly was a one-of-a-kind man. His wisdom and gentle spirit made it easy to confide in him. Gavin was a friend to all, and you could always count on him to be there. He would drop anything for the people he loved. Gavin and his family attended Eastside Apostolic Lutheran Church in Greer, SC, where they were active in the community. Gavin put God first in all that he did. He was a simple man. He never wanted anything fancy, he was happy with his family, some land, and space to ride around. Gavin was stubborn when he set his mind to do something it was getting done. He was relentless and fearless. As Gavin matured in his faith, he became worry free and was certain that God would provide everything he would ever need. His motto would be “no need to stress”. His faith was never shaken. He had a peace about him that was contagious. He made everything more fun and played a vital role in the lives around him. He will be missed dearly, and his memory will be treasured forever. Until we meet again. Gavin is survived by his wife, Brooke Elizabeth Aho; his children, Zienna Elizabeth Aho, Benton Cody Aho, Ryker James Aho, and Holland Rae Aho; his parents, Craig and Lea Aho; his siblings, Damian Aho, Chelsey Aho, Lacey Kottke (Tim Kottke), Quinton Aho, Kenzey Karlsen (Leighton Karlsen), and Payton Aho; his nieces and nephews, Dexter Aho, Jaxson Aho, Kiara DeRuosi, Jace Kottke, Logan Kottke, Oliver Karlsen, and Maddox Karlsen; and his paternal grandparents, James and Karen Aho. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Esther Juntunen. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Eastside Apostolic Lutheran Church conducted by Mr. Andre Aho and Pastor Dan Hoard. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Curtis Coponen, Calvin Coponen, Matthew Hannu, Jacob Hannu, Damian Aho, and Quinton Aho, Payton Aho, and Andrew Hannu. Honorary escorts will be Carter Hoard, Kyden Coponen, and Austin Ojala. Visitation will be held 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Eastside Apostolic Lutheran Church. The family is at the home of Brooke’s parents, Timothy and Rebekah Hoard. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Brooke Aho’s Venmo account.
