Heading: Edward Cesar Armendariz Dateline: Greer Edward Cesar Armendariz went home to be with his Lord and his beloved parents Mary Lou and Albert Armendariz Sr. on November 14, 2010. He leaves behind his wife Suzanne Armendariz of the home, children Michelle Armendariz (husband Ray Molina) and Rachel Aguilar (husband Rudy)of El Paso, Tx, Rebecca, Jessica and Nicholas Armendariz of Orwigsburg Pa and step children John and Rebecca Barbrey of Greer, SC. Five siblings survive including Albert Armendariz Jr.,(wife Virginia), Lulu Contreras(husband Juan) and John Armendariz of El Paso Tx, Letty Robert(husband John) of McAllen Tx, and Larry Armendariz(wife Karyn) of Nashville, TN. Ed was born in Los Angeles, California on October 31, 1948 and raised in El Paso, Texas. He held an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Texas and completed graduate work in Finance at the University of Washington. His long and successful career in public finance includes ten years as CFO for the New York State Metropolitan Transportation Authority, nine years as Finance Director for Intermountain Power Agency in Utah and more recently as President of Southeastern Public Advisory Group. Ed's last accomplishment was assisting the City of Greer SC with financing for their new City Complex, a project that was dear to his heart as Greer had become his hometown. Ed loved his family and nothing brought him greater joy than being with his grandbabies, Georgia and Madeline Aguilar. He also dearly loved his five children and his extended family of nieces and nephews. The family can take comfort in knowing that despite his recent suffering, he is now resting with his dear parents who he sorely missed. Memorial services will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. John Rush and Rev. Arthur Holt. The family will receive friends from 3:00-3:45 p.m. prior to the service at Wood Mortuary.
