Anne L. Olson

Anne “Annie” Laurel Stauffeneker Olson, 79, wife of the late Joel Thomas Olson, passed away March 9, 2024. Anne was born in Cortland, New York to the late Vernon Floyd and Lila Susan Neimi Stauffeneker and she spent her childhood years in Ithaca, New York on Sapsucker Woods Road with her 7 siblings before moving to New Hampshire to raise her family and retired in Greer, South Carolina. A beloved mother and loyal friend, she was a retired bookkeeper and member of Greer Apostolic Lutheran Church. Surviving are six daughters, Tamara Olson Taylor of Chesapeake, Virginia, Melissa A. Myers (Glen) of Lyman, South Carolina, Aune E. Gibbs (Harry) of Greer, South Carolina, Alena J. Cox (Eddie) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Heather M. Kinnunen (Travis) of Inman, South Carolina and Hilary L. Olson of West Columbia, South Carolina; three sons, Otto Edward Olson (Diana) of Wasilla, Alaska, Levi J. Olson, of Lyman, South Carolina and Oliver L. Olson of Derry, New Hampshire; two brothers, Vernon “Skeet” Stauffeneker, Jr. (Kathy) of Rindge, New Hampshire and Pete Stauffeneker of Lyman, South Carolina; four sisters, Linda Coleman of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Eileen E. Seppala (Arnold) of Lyman, South Carolina, Janice Parkkonen (Juha) of Lyman, South Carolina and Amy Troxel (Jimmy) of Inman, South Carolina; twenty-eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sons, Todd Michael Olson, Joel T. Olson, Jr., Rudy Joel Olson, and Oscar J. Olson and one sister, Sheila Sauvola. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Greer Apostolic Lutheran Church, 453 N. Rutherford Road, Greer, South Carolina, conducted by Pastor Paul Smallwood and Pastor Doug Coponen. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
