Opal Griffin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

At 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Opal Nedine (Collier) Griffin, born January 27, 1923, passed away in her room that she loved at the home of her son, Michael Robert Griffin & Avonne Lee (Tackaberry) Griffin, in Greer, South Carolina. She went to meet her late husband, John Fred Griffin, in Heaven. He was born December 7, 1918, in Stanwood, Michigan, and passed away on April 21, 2002, in Greer, South Carolina. She was a fantastic, hospitable, loving wife, mother, and person all her life. She is seeing her Savior Jesus Christ’s face with her family and friends in Heaven. Opal's father was the late Charles F. Collier, born 1895 in Indiana, and passed away April 25, 1987, in San Bernardino, California. He is interred at Los Angeles Veterans Cemetery. Her mother was the late Anna Mae (Peters) Collier, born in 1901, and passed away in 2003. She is buried in Texas near her son, (Opal’s brother), Charles’ residence. Opal was preceded in death by her brother, Jackson Collier, sister, Lotus Collier, daughter, Patricia McNeil, son, John F. Griffin, Jr., and great-granddaughter, Mikaela Lindquist. She leaves behind a large family. Surviving are her son, Michael R. Griffin, 74, and daughter-in-law, Avonne Lee (Tackaberry) Griffin; grandchildren, the children of John Jr. & Bonnie Griffin: John F. Griffin, III and Cheryl Griffin, and the children of Michael & Avonne Griffin: Sjona L. (Griffin) Lindquist, Jeanette A. (Griffin) (Ramos) Schell Griffin, Amy K. Griffin, Michael T. Griffin, James R. Griffin, and Megan E. (Griffin) Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Sarah (Lindquist) Cassano, Mitchell Lindquist, Steven Lindquist, Madison (Lindquist) Grubbs, McClain Lindquist, Silas Lindquist, Selah Lindquist, Anjelica (Ramos) Moore, Alexandra (Ramos) Capps, Ollyve Griffin, Savanah Griffin, Rachel Griffin, Paton Griffin, Kathren Griffin, Harrison Lufkin, Grace Lufkin and Jackson Lufkin; great-great grandchildren, Rain Brooks, Caden Brooks, Benjamin Cassano, Naome Cassano, and Gideon Cassano; and brother, Charles F.
