Martha McBride Godfrey

Martha McBride Godfrey, 94, wife of the late Marion S. McBride and the late David Reece Godfrey, passed away June 18, 2022. A native of Greer, daughter of the late Charlie F. and Josie Franklin Davis, she was a retired employee of Greenville County School District and a member of Apalache Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, Reggie McBride (Debbie) of Taylors; two bonus sons, David Barry Godfrey (Carolyn) of Columbia, SC; Mitchell Godfrey (Donna) of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Charlie Andrew Davis (Chris) of Greer; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Godfrey was predeceased by one brother, Milton Davis and one sister, Joy Jones. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Apalache Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brian Childers and Mr. Charlie McBride. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 10:30-11:15 AM Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Apalache Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Gary Davis, Roger Jones, Steve Jones, Andy Wactor, Robert Yeargin, and Leland Campbell. The family will be at the home.
