Marks Arnold

November 28, 1930 - March 11, 2021

Fletcher Marks Arnold, 90, passed away March 11, 2021. A native of Greenville, son of the late Abner and Pauline Marks Arnold, he was a retired employee of the Charlotte Housing Authority, a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Presbyterian faith. He received his Associate Degree from Charlotte College which later became UNCC. Marks volunteered with Meals on Wheels, loved singing and dancing, loved working in his garden and with his flowers. He was humble and kind, always willing to help a loved one or friend. Surviving are his wife, Edna Garrett Arnold of the home; two daughters, Kathy Stultz (Richard) of Charlotte, NC and Donna Croft (Dick) of Marietta, GA; and three grandchildren, Richie Stultz, Garrett Croft and Victoria Brewer (Richard). He was also predeceased by one brother, Caswell Eugene Arnold and one sister, Lucille Smith Benton. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Dr. Jimmie Harley. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends after the committal service at the gravesite. The body will lie in state from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
