Mark Matthew Sitter

July 28, 1949 - April 20, 2022

Mark Matthew Sitter, 72, passed away April 20, 2022. A native of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, son of the late Matthew and Jacqueline Smart Sitter, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. After honorably serving in the Navy, he held multiple positions in sales and management before starting his own company manufacturing machinery and components. Mark loved all things automotive, being a true car enthusiast and auto racing fan. His passion for food, and cooking new and interesting recipes, brought a great deal of joy to family and friends. He was known and admired for his sharp wit and extensive knowledge of all manner of subjects. Surviving are his wife, Marie Dyess Sitter of the home; a son, Michael Sitter (Shane) of Aurora, Colorado; two sisters, Jo Sitter (Don) of Mount Pleasant and Teddy Sitter-Danilo (Ken) of Naples, Florida; and two grandchildren, Hunter Sitter of Naples, Florida and Caroline Sitter of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church conducted by the Pastor Rev. Jose Gabriel Cruz Rodriguez. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 6:00 pm at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home.
