Lorraine Slifer
November 2, 1950 - March 10, 2022
Lorraine Slifer, 71, of Taylors, friend, and child of God, died March 10, 2022. Lorraine was born, November 2, 1950, to the late Russell L. Slifer, Sr. and the late Marjorie I. Shoots Slifer. A graduate of Phoenixville Area High School. Lorraine was smart and a hard worker. Although she didn’t go immediately to college, she pursued her education at a later age, graduating from Immaculata University with a BA in Accounting and then earned an MBA in Finance from St. John’s University School of Business. A New Yorker, most of her life, Lorraine worked for the Manhattan Transit Authority. She sang in the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. When you would visit Lorraine, she mastered Manhattan and was a wonderful tour guide. A NY bagel was a must, and her NY style cheesecake was award-winning. She was a gifted photographer. She traveled the United States to find animals, flora and fauna, in their natural habitat; this included Glacier National Park, Idaho Falls, Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Alaska, and Denali National Park. After retirement she moved to South Carolina to enjoy the warm weather with her 3 Westie Puppies. She attended the Praise Cathedral Church of God. Lorraine believed in always living and finding truth. She will be missed by her church friends and neighbors. Lorraine leaves behind two sisters, three nieces, and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her brother. All arrangements are private. Online condolences may be made at www.thewoodmortuary.com.
