John W. Riddle

February 10, 1926 - February 10, 2022

John Wallace Riddle, 96, husband of the late Doris Lurean Wilson, passed away February 10, 2022, at his home. A native of Greenville County, son of the late James Leon and Josie Lee Greer Riddle, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a D-Day survivor, a retired employee of Homelite, and member of Fairview Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Wallace Riddle (Penny) and Sam Riddle (Claudia) all of Greer; five grandchildren, Wallace Dustin Riddle, Julie Ann Mason, April Staggs, Nicholas Riddle and Adam Riddle; six great-grandchildren, Charlie John Staggs, Carter Staggs, Bryson Wallace Riddle, Kaysen Lee Riddle, David Mason, and Lindsey Fortson; and three great-great-grandchildren, Emma Rose Mason, Owen Mason and Dakota Fortson. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Leon Riddle and Tommy Riddle and two sisters, Jean Campbell and Mildred Hayes. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2022, at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, conducted by Rev. Steve Evans and Dr. Eddie Leopard. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
