Jessie Florine Nation Clayton, 94, widow of Fred Gibson Clayton, passed away January 5, 2022. A native of Pickens County, daughter of the late John D. and Annie Lee James Nation, she was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Dwayne Clayton of Taylors and Dawson Brad Clayton of Lyman; one daughter, Myra Campbell of the home; seven grandchildren, Dawson Brent Clayton (Krista), Leslie Brown (Kevin), Robert Clayton (Lauren), Malinda Pruitt (Jason), Kayla Miller Capps (Trey), Kaci Miller, and Chad Campbell (Kimberly); and fourteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Clayton was predeceased by one daughter, Pamela Suzanne Miller; four brothers, John Austin Nation, Fred Nation, Roy Nation, and Hubert Nation; and a sister, Ester Coleman. A Celebration of Life Service was held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Calvary Hill Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Tim Wofford. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 W.
