James Clifton Taylor III

November 29, 1944 - June 9, 2022

James Clifton Taylor, III, 77, went home to be with the Lord, June 9, 2022. A native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; a son of the late James Clifton Taylor, Jr. and Margaret Merle McMahan Taylor; he was a U.S. Army Veteran and recipient of the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; staunch protector of his wife and family, enjoyed fishing and Atlanta Braves baseball, loved his devoted dog, Cashew, and was of the Baptist faith. Additionally, he had a special relationship with his extended family (in-laws) and spending time with them. Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Frances Moore Taylor of the home; two daughters, Margaret Taylor and Kathy Wiant (Karl); one sister, Sara Foreman (Jack) and four grandchildren, Karl Wiant, II (Becca), Kerry Wiant (Tina), Katelyn Wiant (Cash) and Anthony Hall as well as his best friend of seventy three years, Mike Moore. A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Mountain View Cemetery conducted by Rev. Danny Monroe with full Military Honors. Visitation will be held 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Sunday prior to the graveside service at The Wood Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605.
