James "JE" Pace

November 18, 1938 - January 19, 2022

James Ellis “JE” Pace, age 83, passed away at the Upstate Community Hospice House on, January 19, 2022. JE was born in the Glassy Mountain Community on November 18, 1938, the son of Oscar and Virginia Henson Pace and a lifelong resident of the Glassy Mountain community. A graduate of Blue Ridge High School class of 1957, he worked for Pepsi-Cola and the City of Greer. A member of Highland Baptist Church, he was a former music director and Deacon of Glassy Mountain Baptist church. Mr. Pace was a United States Army Veteran. JE was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Donna Jordan Pace; and two sisters, Naomi Gosnell, and Eunice Pace. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Eppley Pace, his sons, Dewey (Tammy), DeWayne (Debrah), and Stuart Pace. His stepchildren, Alicia Sterritt, Christina Bridwell, Carla Jones, and Aaron Howell; thirteen grandchildren; his brothers, Cecil (Hazel), and Lonnie (Jackie) Pace. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Highland Baptist Church, Taylors, SC conducted by Rev. Alex Kingsbury and Rev. Malcolm Lance. Burial will follow in Glassy Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1:30-2:45 PM at Highland Baptist Church.
