Helen Pittman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Helen Mae Plumley Pittman, 89, widow of David Lee Pittman, passed away January 8, 2022. Born in Rochester, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Bessie Mae Brower Plumley. A retired nurse, she was retired from the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control at Greenville County Health Department. Formerly she was employed at Shriners Hospital for Children, Greenville Memorial Hospital and Greenville General Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse. She was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. Surviving are two sons, David W. “Sonny” Pittman (Vickie) and Daniel E. “Danny” Pittman (Rhonda); a daughter, Karen Peahuff; six grandchildren, Tia Pittman Bolding (Chris), Trent Pittman (Kristen), Eric Peahuff (Reena), Austin Peahuff, Melissa Stead, and Daniel Pittman (McCayla); and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pittman was predeceased by one son, Alan Kent Pittman, three brothers, Wayne Plumley, Glenn Plumley, and Johnny Plumley, and three sisters, Mary Nordquist, Ruth Lynn, and Jeanne Black. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Joe Seay. Burial will follow in Landrum City Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1:00-1:45 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Greer Community Ministries, P.O.
