Doris Ophelia Elder Bryant, 92, widow of Loyd Earl Bryant, passed away November 11, 2021. A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Guy and Loree Lark Elder, she was a retired employee of Steel Heddle and member of Fairview Baptist Church and the Caring Sunday School Class. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and John Baker of Taylors and Linda and Leonard Oliver of Taylors; one sister, Evelyn Trotter of Taylors; three grandchildren, Pam Forrester (Ronnie), Michael Baker (Amy), and Travis Oliver (Sumer); and six great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by one granddaughter, Lisa Oliver. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021, at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Eddie Leopard and Rev. Joe Price. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hairston, Billy Hill, Benny Cantrell, Harry Howard, Wayne Bryant, and Eddie Smith. Honorary Escort will be the Caring Sunday School Class of Fairview Baptist Church. Visitation will be held 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary prior to the service. The family is at the home of the daughter, Linda Oliver. A special thank you to the Manning Place staff and Agape Hospice for their loving care.
