David L Snyder, 80, passed away January 13th, 2022 with his loving wife by his side. Dave was born on November 30th, 1941 in Akron, OH. He was preceded in death by his mother Rhea Spikerman Snyder and son D.J. Snyder. Dave is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Betty; three sons Scott Snyder (Denise), Ryan Richards (Tara), Sean Richards (Nicole); brother, Terry Snyder; eight grandchildren, D.J., Kaleigh (Thomas), Dylan, Ansley, Hannah, Hailey, Paige and William; many beloved sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces, and nephews; countless devoted and loving friends; as well as his German Shepherd Maverick, who was his constant companion. Dave received a business degree from the University of Akron. Following his education, Dave embarked in a successful life-long career in the tire industry. He started his career at BF Goodrich and retired from Michelin as an Executive VP of the TCI organization. Upon his retirement, Dave founded DLS Tire Centers acquiring several retail and commercial tire stores throughout the Mid-West and Southeast, later opening a retread facility. Dave was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. Some of his greatest enjoyments were playing racquetball at the track and racquet (where he met Betty), taking friends and family water skiing on a houseboat in Lake Cumberland, annual snow skiing trips with his boys in Breckenridge, golf trips, teaching his grandchildren how to swim, and traveling around the world with Betty. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Saturday February 5th, from 12pm -3pm at LaLa’s in The Lakes (4315 Manchester Rd. Akron, OH 44319).
