Boyd "Bunchy" Godfrey Jr.

December 5, 1935 - February 10, 2022

Boyd Arnold “Bunchy” Godfrey, Jr., 86, passed away February 10, 2022. A native of Greer, South Carolina, son of the late Boyd Arnold Godfrey, Sr. and Annie Ruth Byars Godfrey, he was a U.S. Marines Corps veteran, owner and operator of Godfrey Trucking, Inc., and a member of Greer First Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Holtzclaw Godfrey of the home; two daughters, Candice Godfrey Stanton (Tommy) and Stephanie Smith Collins (John) all of Greer; one sister, Betty Godfrey Clayton of Greer; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and one daughter-in-law, Rachel Eaves Godfrey of Greer. He was also predeceased by one son, Bradley Glenn Godfrey; one brother, Stanley Louis Godfrey. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, conducted by Dr. Doug Mize and Dr. Drew Hines. Visitation will be held at the home immediately following the service on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Riley Stanton, Gray Stanton, Tommy Stanton, John Collins, Mark Byars, and Jimmy Byars. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the caregivers and nurses at National HealthCare of Greenville and Agape and Caris Hospice of Greenville for their love and support to Bunchy and the Godfrey family.
