Rosellen Sue Berger

A Detroit, MI native, Rosie was the daughter of the late Francis and Suzanne (Luce) Berger. She cultivated and nurtured her beloved "South Carolina family" while raising her three daughters, Jessica M. (Bauman) Johnson of Durham, NC, Jennifer L. Bauman of Woodruff, SC, and Heather R. (Bauman) Hendricks of Westland, MI. Rosie remained lovingly close with her surviving brothers, John (Jennifer S.) Berger of Chicago, IL, Steven (Yvonne) Berger of Livonia, MI and Timothy (Jennifer) Berger of Brighton, MI as well as her sisters, Elaine (Roy) Cory of Elkhart, IN, Sharon (Brian) Hodges of Cadillac, MI and Suzanne (Larry) Kuhn of Redford, MI. Her greatest joy in life was being Mimi to her grandson, Wesley Hendricks. Also surviving are her Sisters-In-Law, Susan (the late James) Berger of Arlington, OH and Sherry (the late Jeffrey) Berger of Dearborn Heights, MI. She brought many special people into her SC family, including Lateesha Curry of Bowling Green, OH, who she called her "adoptive daughter." She was preceded in death by two brothers she cherished and loved to reminisce about, James (Susan) Berger and Jeffrey (Sherry) Berger. Rosie was a family loving woman who never knew a stranger. To know her is to never forget her. She may never stop talking when she started, but she sure knew how to light up the room. She was of the Catholic faith, and an avid supporter of our country's veterans. Nothing meant more to her than her daughters. She reveled in bragging of their accomplishments, telling stories of their times spent together and rarely missed an opportunity for a daily phone call to each. As a young adult, she attended nursing school which she realized eventually was not for her. Upon moving to the Upstate, SC, she began working in industrial cleaning. Before long, she started Professional Cleaning Service which she tirelessly built and maintained with some of her original clients remaining after nearly 30 years. Did any of you make it to one of the customer appreciation parties? She had two sets of "South Carolina Parents", all of which preceded her in death. Her nieces and nephews were all very important to her (quite literally too many to name) as well as her friends for many decades, Denise Weimery & Rosemary Antosh. Rosellen's greatest pride in this life was her Blue Ridge Mountain paradise which she adoringly dubbed her "Piece of Heaven" aka "The POH." She told everyone there is no way anyone could be anything but happy in a place like that. All she needed was some music playing, a good Dean Koontz novel or a stack of Reader's Digest magazines to catch up on and some snacks or a meal on the grill. Sharing this place with those she loved was her dream, and her family & friends were all lucky to have shared moments in time there with her. Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Father Bartholomew Leon with webcasting available at www.thewoodmortuary.com.
