Rose Marie Weeks

Rose Marie Crawford Weeks, 76, passed away on January 27, 2025. A native of Abbeville, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Helen Hall Crawford. Rose retired from Long and Sons Utility and was a devoted member of Lee Road Baptist Church. Her faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every challenge. Lee Road Baptist Church was like a second home to her, and she found great comfort there. Over the years, Rose was actively involved in the church and especially enjoyed being part of the music ministry. Rose also considered Long and Sons Utility a second home. She fondly spoke of her time working with Lee and his boys, who became like family to her. Even after her retirement, their kindness and support meant the world to her, and she was deeply grateful for their friendship. Rose had many talents, including handbells, sewing, cooking, gardening and above all, showing love and compassion to everyone she encountered. She was a loving and devoted friend to so many, always seeing the best in people and always wanting the best for them. As her health declined in recent months, her faith remained as strong as ever. She made peace with her earthly departure and eagerly looked forward to being with Jesus. Anyone who knew Rose knew that her boys were the center of her world. The three of them together made it through life’s challenges with love and laughter, knowing as long as they had each other, they had everything. She was both Mom and Dad, giving enough love to cover both roles. She was their biggest cheerleader and they were her proudest accomplishments and the light of her life. In the past decade, Rose was blessed with five grandchildren. Until her health began to decline, she was a regular on the sidelines of every game, cheering them on just as she had done for her own boys when they were young. Her creativity, humor, and quiet strength will continue to live on through them. Rose is survived by her children, Chris Weeks (Lindsey) and Matt Weeks (Blair), both of Greer; her sisters, Barbara Bollman (Paul) of Bradley and Anne Carver (Larry) of Taylors; and five grandchildren, Aida, Davis, Miller, Neely, and Della Weeks. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Lee Road Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Matt Bradley. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville. Visitation will be held from 2:30-3:45 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Lee Road Baptist Church.
