Mary "Betty" Elizabeth Chapman

Mary Elizabeth Chapman, you have been in a battle with Alzheimer’s disease, and we lost you today, December 22, 2021. It breaks our hearts to say goodbye. Your life has been a beautiful picture of sacrificial love. Your legacy cannot be matched. You rose to every occasion. A dairy farmers daughter in a small town. You went to North Georgia College, fell in love with a helicopter pilot and became a microbiologist. You built a strong marriage and raised up four children with your intentional ways and fierce love. You taught us by your actions and faith. We caught our work ethic and learned how to love people well as we watched. Your table was never too small and the notice never too short for one more. Nothing will ever be the same here without you. We each have a million memories to hold close to our hearts and cherish forever. We will miss your smile, your blue eyes, your love, your laughter, and your hands. Those hands that loved so well and worked so tirelessly. We will love you forever. Psalm, 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants.” As Alzheimer’s took over your mind, your love for Jesus never wavered. Peace and joy are present knowing what is happening behind the veil. You are now in the presence of Jesus. This is us. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Greer First Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Doug Mize. Burial will take place at a later date at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. Visitation will be held 2:00-2:45PM Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Greer First Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Tyler Neely, David Waite, Kyle Neely, Greg Stewart, Timothy Chapman, Joseph Brooks, Stephen Waite, Will Chapman, Michael Waite, Cole Chapman, and Nathan Chapman, In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association,225 N.
