Hazel Dill Littlefield

Heading: Hazel Dill Littlefield Dateline: Dandridge, TN Hazel Poole Dill Littlefield, 85, departed this life on February 13, 2011 to be with her Lord, family and friends who have gone on before her. She was the youngest daughter of the late Street and Jane Poole of Greer, S.C. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Annie Westmoreland, Ella Huff, Carl Poole, Doyle Poole, Lloyd Poole and Rosalie Hill. She spent most of her life living in the O’Neal and Blue Ridge communities of northern Greenville County, but has lived the last five years in Dandridge, Tennessee. Hazel was married to William Paul Dill in 1943 and they had three sons. Mr. Dill passed away in 1960. She later married Harrison Littlefield who passed away in 1976. She was formerly employed at Stone Manufacturing, Victor Mill and JP Stevens Plant, Taylors. After her retirement she was a home health sitter in the Greer area. Mrs. Littlefield was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church, Taylors and former member of Enoree Baptist Church, Travelers Rest and Double Springs Baptist Church, Taylors. As long as her health permitted, she was a faithful member. She is survived by three sons and their families, Bill and Pat Dill of Greer; Rev. John and Nancy Dill of Anderson and Mark and Gail Dill of Dandridge, TN; seven grandchildren, Brad Dill, Heather Souther, Faith Chappell, Chris Dill, Jennifer (Dill) Miller, Amanda Dill and Michael Dill and ten great-grandchildren who dearly loved their “Granny Hazel”. Other survivors include a step-son, Donnie Littlefield of KY, seventeen nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. The family expresses much appreciation to those that continued to visit, send cards and phone calls while Hazel was in both assisted living and the nursing home. Special appreciation is expressed to Jefferson County Nursing Home in Dandridge, TN for the outstanding care and love that was given to Hazel. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Mortuary, Greer. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Bill Cashion, David Hill and Rev. Keith Crowe. Burial will be at Camp Creek Baptist Church Taylors. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family is at the home of Bill and Pat Dill.
