Heading: Carolyn Jones Pruitt Dateline: Greer Carolyn Tecora Jones Pruitt, 88, of 102 Rubiwood Circle, widow of General Joshua “June” Pruitt, Jr., peacefully joined her Savior and loved ones in heaven on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at her home. A native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late William Henry Jones, Sr. and Itie Dill Jones, retired from J.P. Stevens, Greer Plant and was a lifelong member of Victor Baptist Church. Surviving are daughter, Jane Pruitt Patat and her husband, Chip of Greer; four grandchildren, Joshua Pruitt and his wife, Candace of Boiling Springs, Rusty Lanford of Spartanburg, Carla Patat of Greer and Ben Patat of Greer and his fiancée, Kyndal turner of Spartanburg; and two great-granddaughters, Rachel Lanford of Spartanburg and Cadence Pruitt of Boiling Springs; two sisters, Winnie Satterfield of Greer and Julia Young of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, Ted Jones and his wife, Polly of Greer and Bob Jones and his wife, Rachel of Rome, Georgia; sister-in-law, Linda Jones of Columbia, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved and enjoyed through the years. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pruitt was preceded in death by her son, Gene Pruitt and four brothers, Bill Jones, John Earl Jones, Charles Jones, and Jerry Jones. A service celebrating Mrs. Pruitt’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Victor Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Ken Vickery. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Honorary escort will be the Ladies Sunday School Class and her caregivers. Family is at the home of the daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Chip Patat, 102 Rubiwood Circle, Greer, SC. The family would like to especially thank Interim Hospice Service and Mrs. Pruitt’s caregivers Angelia Marzka, Mary Burch, Robin Fowler, Lisa Rhodes, Mary Kay Kenealy, Linda Peahuff, and Frances Vaughn for all their love and care.
