Bob Babcock

Bob “Robert” Orland Babcock was born on December 13, 1970, in Flint, Michigan, to Bob and Caroline Babcock. He is survived by Mary Champagne (Babcock) and their children, Spencer Summersett and his wife Casey, Jesse Kearns and her husband Tim, Colton Babcock, and Connor Babcock. He was also a proud and devoted grandfather to Micah, Noel and Koda Kearns and Lincoln and Brinley Summersett. Also survived by his parents Bob and Caroline, and his sister, Rachel Hohman and her husband, Mike. Robert was a husband, father, mentor, and loyal friend who carried a deep sense of responsibility for the people he loved. He showed his love through action, by fixing what needed fixing, helping without hesitation, and working tirelessly to provide for and protect his family. Beneath his toughness was a steady compassion, and he quietly gave his time and support to those striving to better themselves, always ready to lend a hand. Robert’s grandchildren meant the world to him. His face would light up with unmistakable joy whenever he was with them. Whether he was wrestling in the living room, teaching them to box and play sports, showing up to their sports or school events, or making pancakes in whatever imaginative shapes they requested, “Papa” created moments they will carry with them forever. His love for them was evident in every laugh, every lesson, and every hug. Whenever he was not working, you’d find Robert on the lake. He loved spending time with friends, and pulling his kids and grandkids behind the boat on a tube or teaching them to wakeboard and he wasn’t the type to take it easy on them. He pushed them to hold on longer, stand up stronger, and try again when they fell. He believed in grit, determination, and finding the courage to get back up. His cheers were loud, his challenges even louder, but so was his pride when they succeeded. Though his life was cut far too short, the impact of his love, strength, and example will continue to shape those who knew him. The lessons he taught about hard work and showing up for those around you will live on in his children, his grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to be challenged and supported by him. His legacy is not only in the memories he leaves behind, but in the resilience, courage, and determination he instilled in others. Robert highly respected and was deeply impacted by the Overcomers Program at Miracle Hill Ministries, 1916 North Pleasantburg Drive #4036, Greenville, South Carolina.
