William P. Bright, Sr.

William P. Bright Sr., (77) of Greer, SC passed away Sunday night, April 30, 2023, and opened his eyes in heaven where he was greeted by his Lord and Savior whom he loved so much. William, who was known as Bill most of his life, was born to the late Harold and Kathryn Kalbach Bright in Leesport, PA on June 22, 1945. During Bill’s high school years, his family moved to Philadelphia, PA where he attended Roxborough High School. He would then meet and later marry his high school sweetheart, Arlene. Bill and Arlene were married for 59 years and were looking forward to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary! In his mid-20’s, Bill’s life changed forever when he accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. His new relationship with the Lord served as a guide for how he would live his life and raise a family of four boys. At his passing, his family tree had 52 members! Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Kathryn Bright as well as an older sister, Mary. He leaves behind a brother, Robert Bright and his wife, Joyce as well as a sister, Susan. He also left behind all 51 direct family members including his wife, Arlene and their four sons: William Jr. and his wife Debra, David and his wife Kristen, Jonathan and his wife Christina, and Stephen and his wife Susan. Bill also leaves behind, 22 grandchildren: Amanda, Heather (Nichols) and her husband Tim, Stephanie, William III, Sarah (Gula} and her husband Yuriy, Rebecca (Vozna) and her husband Sasha, Matthew and his wife Lydia, Benjamin and his wife Meghan, Rachel (Pegues) and her husband Jackson, Hannah, Lydia, Joshua, Abigail, Johanna, Caleb, David, Lauren, Katie, Savannah, Aubrey, Lindsey, and Marcus. He also leaves behind 14 great grandchildren: Drew, Madelyn, Emilia, Andre, Timothy, David, Anna, Alex, Emma, Ella, Olivia, Alina, Michael, and Noah (unborn). Bill was a member of Suber Road Baptist Church in Greer, SC where a memorial service is being held in his honor on Saturday, May 6th. There is a planned viewing from 9:30 AM – 10:45 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM. An additional viewing/memorial service will be held on Monday, May 8th at 10:30 AM at Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville, PA with a gravesite service/burial to follow at Bern Cemetery in Leesport, PA.
