Charles Lewis Clayton, 88, formerly of 6104 Alexander Drive, widower of Virda Mae Barnett Clayton, died March 3, 2010 at Golden Age Nursing Home.
A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Oley Blythwood and Lula Burgess Clayton, he was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a retired employee of Mayfair Mill and of the Baptist faith. He was a shriner and 32nd degree mason with the Arcadia Masonic Lodge.
Surviving is several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Clayton was predeceased by two brothers, Dan and Buford Clayton and one sister, Mary Sue Stewart.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Wellford Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Mitch Crow.
The families are at their respective homes.
