Richard Wayne (Rick) Thompson, 56, of 709 Dills Farm Way, died
February 6, 2010 at Greer Memorial Hospital.
A native of Oakland, California, he was a son of the late Harold and Peggy Farinsky Thompson, a member of Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church and Owner and Broker of SHELLTREE Realtor. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the
Viet Nam War. He served 19 years in the US Army and US Army Reserve.
Surviving is his wife of 38 years, Linda Haney Thompson, two daughters and sons in law, Michelle and Tim Parham of Lyman, Theresa and Robert Bruce of Taylors, a son in law, Dustin Hice of Greer; 2 brothers, Randy Thompson and wife, Debbie, of Chesnee, and Terry Thompson of Union Mills, NC; 2 sisters and brothers in law, Sandy and Tim Staggs of Duncan, Penny and Mike Wilkerson of Greer, 4 grandchildren, Hunter, Tanner, Avery and Braxton and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Bill Thompson.
Memorial services with military rites will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wood Mortuary.
