John Phillip Allen, 61, of 13 Tindal Road, died March 30, 2009 at his home.
A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Curtis J. and Mary Robinson Allen, he was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, an employee of Furman University and a member of City View First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Alicia Allen of Roebuck and Joshua P. Allen of Pauline; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara A. and Jerry Smith of Inman; a brother, James Allen of Wellford; a sister, Ann Self of Lyman; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Mike Runion.
Visitation will be held after the service at the gravesite.
The families are at their respective homes.
